Adult Acne - DIY Lymphatic Massage

And here comes the main post which is the reason for my previous post on differentiating between adult and adolescent acne... So there is a reason sugar_cupcakes actually posted that up.. lol... cunning....

Regular DIY massage at home can help reduce the blockage of our lymph nodes which is one of the main causes for jawline acne... And because I'm so prone to getting jawline breakouts, it's time to share a translated step-by-step Japanese guide with you lengluis. I hope my translation with Uncle Google's help is accurate... LOL... The original step-by-step guide is from the Japanese Beauty Site - All About Mico

Notes:
  • Always make sure your hands are clean before doing any skin massage
  • If you've already got severe acne on neck, chin and jawline, doing the massage incorrectly may further simulate sebum secretion and aggravate inflammation. Avoid this if you're not sure!
  • This helps with prevention for lengluis with the occasional jawline acne breakouts so I am a fan!

The 2 types of Acne - Adult Vs Adolescent Acne

I figured, a write-up on the differences between adult and adolescent acne would be too silly since I'm no dermatologist. Go ask Uncle Google and ye shall be enlightened. However, the reason for this post is to share with you lengluis a simple pic on easily identifying if your acne type is adult acne or adolescent acne?

I found this pic while reading some Japanese beauty site - All About Mico. (Umm,... been going through lots of literal translation by Uncle Google... hahahahaaa) Not a definite full proof pic, but... it helps...

Adolescent Acne

  • Adolescent acne -  forehead,cheeks and T Zone

Adult Acne
  •  Adult acne - temple and forehead, acne around the jaw

Adult acne and adolescent acne are treated differently. If you don't know this by now... I hope this post is of some help before you lengluis start Googling for more info. Knowing the type of acne you're suffering from will greatly help in combating our utmost detestable skin enemy... ACNE...

Asia's Makeup Bible - Kevin' Make-Up Magic Book (ENG Version)

The reason why I chose to review this makeup bible rather than Bobbi Brown's Makeup Manual (On the sideline, Bobbi Brown Beauty Rules book is actually a great gift for teenage girls) or other English, Japanese, Taiwanese beauty books is because,
  • this book is totally easy-to-follow and,
  • it's available in straight-forward English!
  • Simplicity is the key to getting readers who stick by to the last page
  • the guru's unbiased reviews on makeup products regardless of brands are genuine
  • cosmetics used in the books are affordable and easily available in retail and online stores
  • the author is frank to the point where he even  mentions and shows the use of  double eyelid tapes and iris enlarging contact lenses... So Asian! lol.... (^o^)
  • one of the book features everyday women with the usual eye bags, skin problem... etc which is an inspiration to all lengluis to start doing something about your imperfections
  • the before after pics on every single step of makeup application shows VERY VISUAL TRANSFORMATION

I'm not really a book junkie, and neither am I a makeup enthusiast. I mostly rely on nude makeup that looks almost au-naturel to cover up flaws and imperfections. Duh... hence the minimal write ups on cosmetics... :p

But...... give this book a flip once, and... uh-huh... you are so going to want to start using makeup... hahahahahhaaa...

Info on the book:
  • Authored by Kevin 老师 of Queen/女人我最大 (Nu Ren Wo Zui Da/NRWZD) - an interesting Taiwanese TV show on beauty
  • Kevin's often hailed as ‘彩妆天王’ (The Heavenly King of Cosmetics) in Taiwan
  • Was originally published in Chinese but now.... Its available in ENGLISH
  • They come in twos (1. Make-Up Magic 2. Perfect Beauty Guide)
  • About RM42-RM45 for the 2 books
  • Easily found in major KL bookstores (MPH, Kinokuniya, Popular, Borders) under the "beauty guide" section

My Conclusion:
  • Come on... books are tax deductible (I mean umm... in Malaysia... hehheh). Getting this would be perfect!
  • As usual, Asia's beauty bibles are loaded with pics! Again, a pic says a thousand words! Hohohoo...
  • Don't you just love Japanese and Taiwanese beauty books? They are really nice to look at... and hopefully nice to read too..!
  • I have no regrets getting this. I means duh... even if I don't ever master the skills its a nice book with pretty attractive pics
  • You will sit and read... or just flip to look at the pics... So, don't worry about it going to waste
  • No, I'm not a book seller... LOL... But at RM45 compared with other beauty books... I have no probs recommending this... :p

New wishlist item #1 - FitFlop flip flops

I bet you lengluis have seen these around... FitFlop, Sketchers ToneUp, Sketcher's ShapeUp... hmmm... whatever them shoes/sandals/flip flops that claims to tone your butt and calves. Tone butt??? Woooooohoooo... I want...!!! LOL...

There are loads of mix reviews on these. Some people say they work, some say they don't, some say there's soreness between their toes and some complains about them being bad for the lower back and knees... Even some celebrities swear by them! Oh, and.. they are bloody pricey for a pair for flip flops or sneakers though...

Whatever it is... either of them are still on my #1 wish item  for now... LOL.... Discipline-discipline..  sugar_cupcakes is staying real clever and is doing more research on this before actually deciding to purchase them. Heck... they look kind of funky... so... that's my first review for now... And, the research continues...

See this reviews by fellow bloggers:

P/S - If any of you lengluis have been walking in these, do comment. Would appreciate it! (^o^)

    Update 25th January 2011:
    • And... sugar_cupcakes finally got one of these (electra bronze)... hohohohoho...
    • Lets give it a month before I put up a proper review on this...
    Update 24th March:
    • I figured 3 months should be enough to review this
    • Definitely some improvement in the thigh area.. (Yeah... i checked the rear... LOL)
    • But not sure if its because of this or that I've been doing lots of moving about lately
    • Though, I do have one conclusion on this... sugar_cupcakes love em FitFlops!!
    • Why? Cos they are mighty comfortable and feels like a little spring when you walk!
    • If you walk around the shopping malls a lot... the thighs and bum seems to come into contact a lot when you walk. Hmm... maybe that's where some workout goes...
    • Remember to get the style that fits you most. Different designs fit differently depending on your feet shape regardless if the size is right
    • Oh and... you'd definitely feel the pinch in you wallet when you get this... Imagine... RM260++ for a pair of slippers... Ouch......

Pinhole glasses - Spectacle girl savior from prescriptive glasses?

I do wear contacts and glasses. LOL... I treat them as accessories.... Come on, these days if you're addicted to the tv, pc or have a bad habit of reading on your bed with minimal lighting, your eyes are so gonna suffer. So umm... guilty as said for all the mentioned... (--)"

Prescriptive glasses can be annoying when you're trying to look emm... lenglui. So, I'm sure you can't wait to get rid of your glasses... hohoho... (hey, if you have the right design, you'll still be a lenglui with your glasses. Think of the HOT teacher/doctor look... huahuahuahua)

    pic credit to http://www.kivaa.blogspot.com/2009/06/me-my-pinhole-glasses.html

So umm, back to topic. A few years back... I noticed this - the pinhole glasses. They were sold pretty expensive in the KL pharmacies back then. But recently, they can be found in Daiso (the RM5 Japanese store). RM5?! LOL... So yeah... I got one, not from Daiso though... cos I got mine way earlier.... but it costs about RM10, still okay-ish. Anyways, they all work the same... in Layman's term, they sort of exercises your eye muscles..

So you thought.... no need for Lasik and still you'll be rid of your glasses soon? Aww... sorry to disappoint lengluis... but...... From lots of research and Googling, I realized... there is no scientific evidence that this will improve your eyesight to the point that you wouldn't need prescriptive glasses. So lengluis, glasses are staying for a while unless you do decide to get Lasik... huhuhuhu...

Couple of links to some info:

    Conclusion:
    • After months of using this... I cannot honestly say that my eyesight improved... ceh....
    • But, its still all good cos' it does reduce the strain when I sit hours in front of the PC or TV
    • Feels great 'cos even in yoga you are thought to exercise your eyes
    • There's been loads of reviews on this so just Google if you need to know more
    • I'd say, if you see this in Daiso, give it a try. Its only RM5 and if your eyes frequently feel strained from hours in front of the PC, try this
    • May take some time getting used to... But, you'll be pleasantly surprised when it feels that you could stay on the PC for hours without any strain or headache as compared to your prescriptive glasses
    • Word of caution: this does not replace prescriptive glasses so don't ever walk out in this or drive with it. There's just too many blind spots with the pinhole glasses.

    Surf Season... huhuhuhuhu..

Again, I've been slow in updating this blog.. 'Cos its surf season again...! There goes the sputtering and drowning in the waves which is actually really fun! (glug-glug-gluggggg) Oooo nooo... you'll now think, crazy as this blogger may be, now she loves drowning too?! I am, but a lousy beginner, 'cos hahahhaha... sugar_cupcakes only goes like once a year.. And learning to surf takes lots of hours and perseverance (from a nice helpful guy on the beach - his blog). Noted!

You'd just love the people and the sea in Cherating! The wave and current there is perfect for beginners (but still... I'm struggling to take on the "a teeny bit bigger waves"... really difficult la.... lol...)

So umm... This post is less on beauty... but more on fitness and personal raves... hohoho... :p

Why I love going to Cherating during surf season?
    • the people there are real nice and genuine (and I love the part where I can just walk around with flip flops, t-shirt and shorts all day and when its raining you don't need no umbrella - of course you'll need the umbrella when the hot sun comes out.. hahahahahaaaa... typical Asian chick)
    • I (heart) the quaint little guest houses (the ones which are clean, without air-cond, without water heater, friendly guests, perfectly placed clothes line to hang your wet clothes, thoughtful mosquito netting and lighted up mosquito incense every night)
    • lots of beginner surfers there and everyone's willing to help! (since being a newbie is always difficult)
    • food is cheap and GOOD!
    • the beach doggies and cats are friendly and lovable!
    • don't know why, I just LOVE being in the water! (even though emm... getting dragged by the long boards when being wiped out is emm... pretty painful... LOL)
    • you get a really good full body workout and less muscle injury (though emm... you'll be prone to get bruises... lol...)
    • good food, good people, great fun, sea and salt... what more could a iwannabelenglui ask for?!

    Conclusion:
    • I LOVE everything there is to learning to surf

Uncle Google... You're 'de coolest! - Google image search...

    Google and MORE!

And when you thought Uncle Google only does normal search. Watch the video on the link...

How creative is that? LOL... I know... sugar_cupcakes is a Jakun (translates to an indigenous tribe in Malaysia... meaning I still live in the jungle knowing peanuts on what goes on in the tech world)... hahahahahaha... Sorry... I'm just too outdated to notice this stuff... It's a short vid, but.... nice one there...... :p

Do it at home Permanent Hair Removal... Whoaaa....

So I thought when I added advert gadgets to the blog, it would at least have made iwannabelenglui a more professional looking magazine-like blog. Or.... maybe, I could even earn some side income from the really miserable 2 cents visitor click on the adverts... Maybe another 10 years.... huhuhuhu...

Sad to say.......... I'm spending MORE by looking at the adverts myself...!! LOL... THIS IS BAD........

So okay, the last advert that got me really interested is this: VISS IPL(Intense Pulse Light) Hair Removal System

     Why this is so interesting?
    • Because previously I paid like a crazy RM4k to do emmm... full LHE on underarms, bikini lines and leg
    • Even so, that was totally worth it... hahahahaha...
    • This is like... USD545 (free shipping worldwide) for the device itself! You don't even need to go to the saloon to do it anymore.... (--)"
    • And result guaranteed in 60 days or your money back
    • With 1 year warranty
    • Even though IPL is a predecessor  of LHE that I went through... the hell with it.... its way..... cheaper!
    • hahahahhaa... I feel like I'm advertising for them...

    Conclusion:
    • In the end, I decided not to buy this..... LOL....
    • Reason: Because I haven't got any hairy areas anymore!!! Sheesh... I don't know where to use it even if I bought it... hahahahahhahaa
    • But if any of you lengluis have hairy problems... go check this out... Seems like a pretty nice deal.
    • Before that, go checkout my post on the LHE... Its totally worth all the pain and money...
    • If I saw this advert before my course, I would have ordered one right away... muahahaha...

    Some Advice:
    • Google for reviews before you order, I can't help you there 'cos I umm... have no troubling hairy situation at the moment
    • When you do get it... share your scoop lengluis! I'm interested to know too! :p
    • My beautician friend told me that the disposable lamp cartridge is the expensive part that the saloons have to change after certain amount of flashes
    • This particular one have a lifetime of up to 4000 flashes which I can say its pretty good... The saloon ones were up to about 5000 flashes
    • Follow the instructions carefully.. This sorta stuff is not something you'd risk fooling around with...
And as for me... Now I really got to stop glancing at interesting adverts on my own blog!!!

The BUTT Pillow - For firmer shapelier butt... lol

Emm... hahahaha... Some people are crazy shoppers... Then, you have the crazy buyers... But then again... I think I owe it to myself to actually blog about this - This is not a crazy purchase... I'm just CURIOUS... Honest! LOL...

Introducing the BUTT PILLOW! Hohoho... I've had this for about 2 years and its been sitting on my office chair for that long! Looks kinda cute... But colleagues has been totally curious about the hole in the middle! Don't ask me why>>>??? I DON'T KNOW... hahahahhaha...

    What the advert says (http://www.japantrendshop.com):

Say “sayonara” to secretary spread, the Beauty Bottom Cushion from Cogit promises to maintain and encourage a shapely bum while you work. Sound too good to be true? This chair cushion works by guaranteeing correct posture, properly aligning your pelvis and spine, which in turn ensures that your bottom muscles become, and stay, taut enough to bounce a 100 yen coin off of.

    Conclusion:
    • No, I don't think my butt became taut enough to bounce any coin off it... (--)"
    • Was hoping that I never got out-of-shape butt with this (with the hours I spend on my butt in the office... god knows I need this... lol)
    • Umm... I think its kind of an accessory for me since the office chair looks kind of dull...
    • I've had this for 2 years. If I'm still having butt issues, is this working?! You tell me... haahahhaa
    • Its pretty nice cushion to sit on though...  :p

Little Japanese cosmetic tricks that grooms

So I figured its time to blog about these few tiny  Japanese products that actually do something to make you look... umm... more groomed.

They come in small packages, but... they work! And if you're a lenglui who carries less makeup on your face, these are tools of the trade. Nude makeup that seem invisible but... behind that.... hohoho... its how we con the guys! muahahahahhahaaa...

    • It tidy up the eyebrows just like how you gel your hair! A-ha! Well groomed brows that stays!
    • A quick drying topcoat that is applied after you've made up your brow
    • If you needn't add on any color (for lengluis with full brows), wear this solo
    • Non-shine matte finish that is resistant to water, sebum and sweat

    • Use it alone to create pale nude lip color so your eyes will get full attention... (diverting attention to your feature that matters)
    • But if you've got cracked lips, do not use this solo, your flawed lips will still show
    • Helps if you've got utterly discolored lips. Otherwise,
    • Apply this before applying any color. After applying color on top of this, your lips will pop! (lol... not literally) But the color will look perfect!
    • There are many other cosmetic brands that carried lip concealers.. Depending on your budget, go google for them!

    • These are like eyelash combs so no more messy looking eyelashes
    • Curl your lashes and apply after your mascara
    • Its like a hairspray for your lashes.. The illusion of naturally curled lashes... hohoho...
    • Lashes stays curled all day...
    • Instantly prevents smudging due to water, tears and oil
    • Wear it solo if you want natural curls without mascara
    • One layer should be good enough... Don't be greedy and slap on like 3 layers of this... Too much would flake...

    • All you need is a pea size... Rub in your palms... and... start the hair arrangement... (^^)
    • Works well when your hair decides NOT to behave
    • And works when all else fail... Eg; serums flatten your hair
    • It a trick to the eyes. Come on... if your hair won't behave, force it to even if its a temp fix... LOL...
    • Oh yeah... Wax are pretty difficult to wash off.. Make sure you shampoo at the end of the day
    • Sold in tiny jars if you just plan to test it out

P/S - I'll add on when something else comes to mind... :p

iwannabelenglui is undergoing a design revamp

Apologies for all the sudden confusing designs on the site.

iwannabelenglui is undergoing some cosmetic procedures so she looks better for her readers!
though umm... she's kind of fickle minded on how the site should really look... lol..

Any suggestions or comments are more than welcomed! (^o^)

Making heels land a better place to walk in... LOL

Heart the heel in the poster below... lol... (its the art for a reality tv show btw)

Okay, so when I decided to do a shoe count, something absolutely obviously obvious showed.. LOL.... I have MORE HIGH HEELED shoes compared with flats and... they ALL look brand new! Maybe 'cos I avoid wearing them as often as my flats. Okay, so most of them only get worn once... Sheesh... Its easier to buy heels cos they look gorgeously better! Emm, I still love my many cute flats though... hohoho.. and they are MUCH MUCH MUCH more comfortable to walk in.

After much pain, googling for help and loads of pretty heels over the years, here's my conclusion dedicated to lengluis with wide feet but longed oh-so-much to wear pretty heels!

    Some tips picked up:

    • always practice walking in them in the comfort of your home before deciding to walk out in them (save the tripping and pain)
    • always make sure you cut your toe nails... Long nails will hurt when your heel pushes your toes down-frontwards to that hard base when you walk.. you're so gonna end up with bruises and bunions
    • get those invisi-stockings/foot cover with toe pads. If you're from KL, try su.soku toe pad invisible low cut foot cover... They help!
    • always walk heel first not sole first (seriously this helps but you'll need some practice. And please, don't do so in ultimate stilettos, you might just kill yourself)
    • don't stinge to spend on extra pads and cushioning... get more cushioning. Whatever to make your feet more comfortable in those killer heels
    • get those jelly-textured cushioning if you're prone to bunions

    If you have wider feet:

    • as tempting as it its... try and avoid pointy shoes. Strapped heeled sandals are loads more comfortable for wide feet (those sparkly studded ones are gems!)
    • if you can't help it, measure your max feet width with the width of the shoe front base. If you need to squeeze your feet to a reduced 25% width.... you'll never be able to walk in them. Hey... we don't live in those feet-binding ages anymore!
    • settle for maybe a little rounded front...
    • if you still feel those are hurting when the heels pushes you feet down-forward, squeeze and press the front-top of the shoes till the fabric/base texture is not too hard. (works especially well for leather shoes)
    • when you stand or walk, try distributing your weight towards both heel and sole
When you feel that extra comfort in your heels, you're going to be able to dance and run in them! LOL... Here's to a better place to walk in. Good luck lengluis!

Disclaimer note: Hey, if you fall or trip in your heels, don't bring up this post! There's no guarantee on absolute safety for just following advice on this post. lol...

Facial Cleanse Sponge - for that extra clean saloon feel..

Many of us lengluis think going for facial courses is where you get ultimately nice clean skin. In actual fact, I think going to beauty saloons for regular facials are more for when you're a much too busy person to take care of your own skin (of course this applies too if you've got too much extra $$$ and don't know what to do with it... muahahahahaha...). Rather, I'd save the extra cash for saloon specific treatments...

So okay, its easy enough for us to apply our own mask. And blackhead removal? (a face steamer, the blackhead tool and pore vacuum) What about cleansing? Nothing like some foam lathering and splashes of water to cleanse your facial skin? And so, add on a Facial Cleansing Sponge for easier cleansing.. ta-da! Full facial prep at home! (But, always remember hygiene-hygiene-hygiene)

    pic credit to http://www.mychemist.lk/index.php?pv=7

    Benefits of using it:
    • feels like you've cleansed your face thoroughly
    • water does not get splashed everywhere when you cleanse your face
    • pretty nice to use in general when you do your daily cleansing
    • these are like very mild exfoliate but less abrasive compare to wash clothes and facial scrubs
    • most saloons reuse their facial sponges so... I'd say... hey.. get your own
    Downside:
    • this can be a breeding ground for bacteria if you do not clean or change them often enough
    • I normally get the thicker ones so that they last (and occasionally soak them in diluted disinfectant and rinse)
Oh yeah, I would recommend the cleansing sponge from Beauty Credit. They costs only RM6.90 and lasts like forever! (But, ahem... of course if you're too lazy of a person to really clean them often enough, please... get the cheaper, thinner sort which you can change as often as possible)

Sana Body Refining Spray Vs Ettusais Medicated Body Whitening Mist

Okay, so I'm not just dealing with jawline and facial acne when down with food allergy. Its the back, tummy and decollete area that's irritating! I mean... doh... how's a lenglui suppose to wear bare back or umm... lets see... a little skin showing clothes during summer?! And, not to forget sugar_cupcakes is staying in a 365 days all year round HOT tropical climate... (--)"

So... here's to the 2 worth blogging about products over the years -> the must-win battle with body acne...

    Ettusais Medicated Body Whitening Mist

    • Nice to use
    • Pretty pricey for a small can (I mean duh... your whole back is a HUGE area)
    • Not very easy to spray when you hold a half full can upside-down (covers a small area only)
    • Yes, it helps fade away red marks left by acne
    • Though its not a full proof get-rid-of-acne spray.. Duh! If that was possible why are we still dealing with acne

    Sana Body Refining Spray

    • Quite worth it since its costs less for more (when compared to ettusais)
    • Yes, it helps... Keeps acne in check (salicylic acid)
    • Smells faintly of salicylic acid and sorta like a real mild tea tree oil tinge to it
    • The spray bottle is really nice-to-use. Sprays on well even when you turn the bottle upside down (spray covers a huge area)
    • I don't see the acne getting less red, but they do reduce in size over time (the anti-bacteria thing sure helps)

    Conclusion:
    • I like SANA one 'cos its more umm... value-for-money
    • And the spray bottle is pretty nice to use. Easy to cover most area of body with a spray
    • Both work to help keep body acne in check
    • Of course you'll never be body-acne free just because of these products if your hormones are still imbalance and the food you eat is causing all sorta skin allergies (okay okay, speaking of the devil... hohohoho)
    • If you're battling body acne, I really do recommend these. (they are sure-keepers)

    Japan Hip Make Bra

    TADA!!! Shape your butt with...

Okiee... while bras are for keeping your boobs in shape... Ever heard of the "Hip Make Bra"?? Hohohoho... sounds like some grammatically incorrectly named item huh? But.... yet again sugar_cupcakes went into some research frenzy on this and finally decided to get one... Hey, it was easily affordable at RM13.90 from Yokosho (or online at http://www.bebeauty4u.com/goods.php?id=375 or hey, just google!) and even cheaper if you do purchase it online.

I'm not going to explain what it does... see the before and after and you'll understand. Huhuhuhuhu.. (^o^)

    Conclusion:
    • comfortable and you'd forget you're wearing it
    • YES, it does shape your butt
    • Umm.. I'm not sure if this will ever shape your butt permanently... hahaha.. you wish..
    • Come on, what can I say? Its affordable and worth the try!
    • This is definitely a keeper!

    Kinohimitsu BB Drink

    And upgrade to its predecessor?

And... it was time to stock up on collagen drinks... LOL... I've been sticking to CollagenMax (produced in Japan) for a while... But here goes... NEW stuff from Kinohimitsu that caught my attention... They came up with so many diff drinks... that got me thinking... This must be the new $$$ making scheme that so easily con women like me... lol.. They really should award me with loyal consumer award when I start posting pics of my stash... hahahhaha...

Okiee lengluis.. Will be updating this soon-ish. Come on... You don't expect an immediate report on a collagen drink. We need to wait... for the effects-effects! LOL...

    What the box says:
    • Ingredients: Acerola Cherry Extract, Bird's Nest Powder, Fructose, Fish Collagen, Rice Bran Ceramide, Fish Protein Elastin, Purified Water
    • Restores your skin natural glow and radiance.
    • Regular intake helps to promote baby-like rosy complexion in just weeks.

    Conclusion Update 1st December 2010:
    • I don't feel much difference from the normal collagen drink
    • LOL... 'cos  it contains collagen as well.. dope!
    • But I stopped after one box and switch back to CollagenMax
    • Don't know why, but Kinohimitsu collagen drink seems to encourage breakouts on my jawline
    • But I still love Kinohimitsu's packaging best! :p

    Remington Hair Tangle Tamer

I've been wanting to blog about this for ages!!! But given my random impulse need for blogging... I think its time you lengluis be introduced to.....

    Remington Electronic Hair Tangle Tamer

So umm.. why am I introducing this? For those lengluis who's been dye-ing your hair with crazy colours and forever having problems combing your tangled hair, suffer no more.... I love this to bits... even though the packaging err... advertises it for kids... hohoho... I got this as a gift years ago from Australia since emm... I used to have problems de-tangling my hair... even with the all sorta gunk cream that claims to de-tangle.

Vid of this in action : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0NzF2-5tzs

    My conclusion:
    • Its really weird but, man... it works!!
    • Chargeable and runs with this brr brr noise
    • De-tangles even my craziest tangled hair moments
    • Slim and not too heavy to pack on vacations
    • De-tangles your hair without the need of having gunk load of hair cream/lotion/spray/serum... whatever...

    Design1

    • yeah man... you'll be rocking cleavage in secs..
    • No Cleavage -----> DEEP CLEAVAGE
    • but emm.. forget about spaghetti strapped clothes cos the straps are thick and obvious
    • massaging the boob as claimed? Emm.. well... it does feel snugg
    • but still after half an hour of moving about... your pushed up boobs will start reducing in the cleavage.. lol.. I guess you'll need to readjust.. perhaps...

    Design 2

    Conclusion:

Cellulite busting cream?? Lets put Fisioline to the test... hohoho...

Crackle your way to cellulite no more!

So umm... I watched this: (click to watch)

Have any of you lengluis seen the new cellulite busting mousse in Guardian pharmacies lately? This is apparently some Italian innovation on busting cellulite. Imagine... "Italiano celluliteyo begone! begone!" LOL. The before after pics on the booth is screaming try-me-try-me!!!

Personally, I don't like the packaging... I mean... duh... You need to look appealing to attract lengluis! But what the heck... the before-after pic on the booth was enough to get me interested. lol... Tsk tsk tsk... no discipline...

Okay, so if any of you lengluis tried it already... TELL ME TELL ME!! Come on... share your scoop... lol... you can stay anonymous like me... hahahahaha...

fisio[line] Cellulite mousses works in 5 key ways:

    • Reactivates the microcirculation
    • Draining effect
    • Anti-oxidant effect
    • Smoothes and soothes the skin
    • Stimulates the metabolism

Okiee.. so I Googled for reviews on this. Surprisingly, Japanese lengluis love this product. Hmm.... lets wait a while before I make my purchase... heheheehe.. Meanwhile.. you can read google translated reviews on Fisioline ...

    Japanese lengluis reviews
A vid on a Jap lenglui using the product
    Dutch site on the product
    Fisioline official site

Retails for about RM129 in KL local pharmacies.. I'm not sure about other countries though.. Ask Uncle Google, he'll know! I'll update this when I finally try it out! huhuhuhu... should be anytime soon...

    Update:
    • Started my first application last night (at obvious cellulite areas)... lol... excited..!
    • The crackling feels good on the skin...
    • But umm... I could get same after-feel with cheaper cellulite gels..
    • Subtle grapefruit fragrance
    • Lets see what this does after 2 weeks

    Update after a month 8th Oct 2010:
    • Aww man.. I religiously use this twice a day.. EVERYDAY! (so hardworking huh?)
    • Still... cellulite's pretty obvious
    • But.... I guess its pretty nice to use with crackle and all
    • If you're tight on budget... just get any normal/reputable cellulite cream for a fraction of the price... Results are similar..
    • Any massaging on area definitely helps!
    • Nope... this is not going in my fav list of stuff...

Getting an au-naturel tan... without mama SUN (and without cosmetics)!

Being a Tan Babe with T_A_B_G_ from the Pantry

Fill up the blanks babe... Whats I'm going to introduce here was a cool DIY suggestion from MSN. Hohoho... One way of maintaining and having a nice simple tan that lasts up to 3 days without any chemicals or the sun is using black tea.

    pic credit to http://www.philebrity.com/2009/04/15/readers-write-wherefore-art-thou-teabaggers/

So now... how do we do this?
    • Steep a few "black tea" bags in a bowl of hot water
    • Let the tea cool
    • Pour the tea into a spray bottle
    • Spray on skin areas that needs slight tanning (face is okay too)
    • Pat a little and let your skin dry
    • Voila! Nice simple light tan..
    • If you're looking for a glow.. slap on a little moisturizer or bronzer to highlight your tan
lol... duh! Excited so I went ahead and try it out.. Guess what.. The next thing I did was to throw out any tanners I had that contained cancer causing "parabens" and umm... whatever ingredients that Google spits out as harmful.

    pic credit to http://women.webmd.com/family-health-9/slideshow-energy-mood-boost-diet

There you have it! Tea is not only good for drinking... Its good for getting a tan too! lol... Purrr.... fect! hahahaha...

Lemon Water - for clearing up skin...

Really? Does lemon water help clears up your skin?

    pic copied from http://toddfrisbie.wordpress.com/2009/07/

If you google enough, you'll eventually be convinced that a lemon a day keeps the skin doctor away... lol... As skeptic as I would like to sound, I actually went on this lemon water regime without knowing its benefits... It all started with my mum's kidney detox...

She was on 8 lemons a day for 10 days... Uh-huh... imagine the amount of lemons I've been seeing in the kitchen... So I decided I needed the perk me up and half a lemon (stolen from my mum's stash) a day would be just the thing... hohoho...

    The daily regime:
    • Bought the RM5 citrus juicer
    • Dilute the half a lemon juice with warm water
    • Morning before breakfast is good (don't worry about gastric, when lemon juice goes in your digestive system it becomes alkaline.. read on)
    • If you have a sensitive stomach, please take this very diluted.. And have something light for breakfast...
    • Do this everyday (either half a lemon or 1 lemon a day)

    So here's to my conclusion:
    • Feels fresher every morning (sheesh... thanks to the sour mornings)
    • I had allergy... but guess what....? No cystic acne breakouts anymore...
    • Surprisingly... it actually helps
    • My skin cleared up.. Though I still get minor breakouts from food allergy...
    • Seriously, TRUST ME... THIS WORKS!
    • Coming from a skeptic who spends all her money on crazy skincare
    • Emm.. of course you need to watch your diet too... duh... you are what you eat...
    • Helps with digestion too

If you're feeling all skeptic... go on... read the links below.
They are the experts after all:

The Coolest gadget EVER!!! -- Kinect Xbox 360--

Beats the wii any given day huh?

    hohohoho... Check out these links:

The lead producer demo-ing "Dance Central"
Another cool demo by the project director
Full body workout with a virtual coach... I'm amazed!

Beats the wii any given day huh>>?
Oh yeah... on the side line... go google up "Muscle March"... Was "de" game that tempted me to get the wii... But.... no... I have patience... I will wait for the natal (now kinect)... lol.... For those lengluis who already have the wii.. fret not... Go get the gayest coolest game ever on the wii -- muscle march -- and it'll be worth all the envy you'll have for kinect... hohoho...

I've been following project Natal for quite some time now.. Waiting, anticipating... worried that it may not be as great as everyone seeing it coming because of all the crazy programmatic flaws it's sure to have. Okiee okiee... Deep down, I'm a geek at heart... hohohoho... Finally admitted that... Come on... I am writing programs for a living... (And playing games for a minimal hour each day seems to be part of my job now... huhuhuh...

But back to our main subject... Kinect... this is definitely on my wish list... Lengluis, coming Nov 2010... presenting you... Kinect!

Stiff neck and shoulder aches? The Buckwheat Pillow Hype...

Organic Buckwheat pillow and all that hype...

So whats all this hype on buckwheat pillows?? Huhuhu... 2 months ago... I finally replaced the ol' lovable pillow with a buckwheat pillow. And the only reason I did that was because of all the hype on how it can help stiff necks and shoulder aches... So yeah... here's to another splurge (3/4 sponsored by 2 of my great gfs) (^^) --happiness--

Oh... Btw... This costs like a bomb for a pillow. Man... why do waste-stuff like buckwheat husks costs so much? Sheesh.......

Any of you lengluis who's reading this... I bet you have the same "neck/shoulder ache syndrome" Duh! That's cos you've been staring at the PC or your notebook for hours with all the wrong posture in place... (--)" just like me... So here's my testimonial on this:

    • The first 3 days was a torture - I could not get use to the pillow
    • The pillow felt hard! (no fluffy nice feeling - I was missing fluffy pillows)
    • Its heavy (trust me... the pillow weighs NOT like a pillow)
    • .. and smells weird
    • Light sleepers beware... you'll get soft rustling noises when you twist and turn
    • After the first 3 horrendous days.... OH MY GOD......
    • I never ever want to switch back to normal pillow... hahahaha
    • Not because this took away my neck aches
    • But because... the elevation of the pillow is just right! Not too high not too low...
    • The pillow conforms to your head shape and you sleep at just the right posture
    • Try switching back to normal pillows after a month... hahaha... its never gonna feel the same
    Conclusion:
    • I'm satisfied! (after 3 sleepless days -- horror horror horror)
    • Other pillows will never ever feel the same
    • Hoping that after many months of this, my neck/shoulder aches will reduce
    • Say hello to comfortable sleep (if you ever get through "the getting used" to period) and better neck posture....

    Modish Smoothing Styling Essence

Yes... its time I was trying something new... Err hhhkkk - err humm....
And this time... its on my overloaded with hair dye and bleached hair....!!

Okay, so umm.. I've tried this like a month ago so its not considered a new adventure... But sheesh... its hard to find the time to blog when I'm busy being a couch potato... :p

So what does the retailer says... (copied off their site http://modishbeauty.com)

    "

Hair Styling essence for Detangles, Hydrates & Protect for a Luxurious, Soft Smooth Feel.

Modish Smoothing Styling Essence is an excellent conditioner for chemically treated or over processed hair. De tangles, hydrates and protects with silk essence for a luxurious, soft smooth feel. Suitable for use before blow-drying to protect against heat and chemical treatment.

    "

    My verdict:

    • Shake the bottle, spray onto your palms and apply to ends of hair avoiding scalp.. Easy!
    • Blow dry or leave hair as it is..
    • VOILA...! Manageable okay-ish hair..
    • Non greasy, smells okay-ish... some people may like the scent...
    • Hair stays soft until the next wash
    • Try avoid getting this near your scalp - avoid that flat hair look at the end of the day
    • Just like most leave on serums but this is like intensive GOOD work done on my overly chemical treated hair!
    • Good for lots-a blow drying and some straightening iron days
    • Its back to long-hair days again...
    • Hair therapy to complement the old post on hair serums
    • Modish is sticking by for a while.

    How to AGE gracefully?

Oh nooooooo.... we're getting older by the minute and we know it!

If you're heading towards the BIG 30 or are already there or way past that... I think its high time we think about aging gracefully.

    pic courtesy of http://www.evelinecharles.com/beautymd.php

Its like the been-there-done that time of life where everyone's starting to remind you, baby, you're not young anymore. Come on... no one likes to be older... but its like the one thing we can't avoid... Reversing age? dang... if only that was EVER possible... Forget botox (for now)... screw surgeries.. if you're gonna be going for cosmetic procedures but have trouble climbing the stairs or having to wear dentures too early for your age... ITS NOT WORKING!

Hohoho... But, you've seen ladies who's age are well beyond their looks. Tell me, does Jen Aniston looks 40?? I don't think so... Kate Moss?? Sheesh... she looks fashionable even in a lousy oversized-T... So okie lengluis, we may all start to age but... lets age gracefully!

    • Teeth - TAKE CARE OF YOUR SMILES! Ladies... if there's anything more important than being beautiful naturally is having a usable set of teeth! Flossing regularly, massaging your gums, collagen to maintain gums...? Whatever you do... please... your teeth are IMPORTANT! We wanna avoid dentures as long a we can... huhuhuhu...
    • Dressing - Try not to dress too young or too old for your age. Eg; Stay away from neons and old grandmotherly laces and peasant flowers or gaudy colours
    • Hairstyles - Mid-length is your safest bet. If you've got babyface, you may still pull off the long hair. I bet you've seen countless of mid-age ladies trying to pull of the young-flirty-long-haired look... The older you get... don't go too short or too long.. no lenglui wanna end up impersonating "the ring" or emm.. whatever "tomboyish aunt-ish" look. Work a do that goes best with your best features
    • Losing hair - Yeah... as we age, most of us feel like we're going balder by the minute. Okay, for most, its a figment of our imagination.. But... when the hard cold truth sets in... you'll know when to cut down on hair dyes and take care of your scalp.
    • Yoga - This is the ultimate, lengluis... I'm serious! Every women I know who look way below their age is into yoga. Come on, if you wanna avoid having joint-paints... trouble walking up the steep stairs as you get older... its time to consider yoga...
    • Stretching - stretching in the morning and having some stomach pick me up in the morning like squeezing quarter of a lemon into cold water and downing the glass each morning
    • Hot and cold - This was from some Japanese age old therapy... when showering, alternate between hot and cold... your skin will contract and expand from the hot and cold water... its like exercise for the skin! Of course... emm... this is not advisable for lengluis going through winter in a cold climate...
    • Secret inner wears - As our bodies age... so does our figure! Its not like we're some celeb who can spend 3-5 hours a day at the gym working our butt off for a nice figure. Come on... on average we only have 4-5 hours a week to spend on maintaining my figure! The rest are time for study, work-work-work, family, sleep, bf, friends, social, and tv... Geez... No beautiful-figure lenglui would ever admit this... but... secretly... most of these women.. they invest in that body-shaping girdle/inner wear/thigh buster tights... to keep that body in shape while they're busy doing stuff other than exercising... Those who says its all thanks to good genes... puh-leeese..... what do they know??! hahahhahaa....
    • Keep an active mind - For the couch potatoes like me... huhuhu... its time to reduce your regular dosage of "staring into space sessions". Pick up a new skill... baking, cooking, sewing.. music instrument, blogging... whatever floats your boat...
    • Feets and Hands - When moisturizing... don't forget your feet and hands! Use gloves when dealing with harsh chemicals like detergents... No ones gonna find out your age when the saying "your hands tell your age" is a laugh...
    • Lengluis, add on to this list - and the list goes on.... hohohoho...

Body beautiful.... Not with exercise (-.-)" -- Easecox Amyliner

    Easecox Diamant Gemstone Series

    pic referenced from http://easecox.multiply.com/photos/album/5/Amylinear_Diamant

    Update 14th September 2010:

    • Yeah.. My friend actually gave me the green light. lol..
    • But... I resisted. Why???
    • Cos her body shape's looking good but emm... her BUST SIZE LOOKS THE SAME AS BEFORE.
    • And me? I'm only going for the boobs.. lol.. Tempting... But I'm resisting.. Come on... its like RM4.8k and boobs ARE THE IMPORTANT FACTOR HERE (--)"

I was hesitant to blog about this... And I still am cos this is one of the stuff that I've been really clever (hohoho - self praise) with and won't purchase until a close friend of mine gives the GREEN light... Still it costs like man... A BOMB!!! RM4.8k++ for 2 sets!! Shessh.....

Okay so what does this do and why am I even interested:

    • inner wear consisting of a bra, corset and girdle
    • sold mainly by MLM (multi level marketing)
    • patented fabric from japan
    • cotton embedded with tourmaline (gemstone) to boost blood circulation - this is the thing thats gonna make you body beautiful
    • claims to "INCREASE or DECREASE (for over sized boobs) BREAST SIZE (hohohohohho)"
    • reduce waistline (you would supposedly end up with hourglass figure)
    • lift your butt
    • reduce thigh size
    • women who's just had baby claims that this is a miracle body worker!

    The regime:

    • you have to be wearing this minimum I think 8 hours a day (correct me if any of you MLM people know better)
    • if you want bigger boobs the special bra which will do the "magic" has no padding okay?! and it doesn't look like the pic (which you can purchase from Easecox after your boob size increased) which I posted above...
    • on the contrary, my friend's wearing it and she says its so comfortable
    • only setback... you have no extra "oomph"... so small chested women will suffer avoiding skin-fitted tops for that correction period of time
    • the corset is actually comfortable
    • her sis, my beautician friend who's been wearing this for more than month... has increased half a cup size and has great body... (she already had a great body to begin with anyways... lol - she's a beautician... remember?)
    • its so pricey that even if I wanna get this... this will have to be a "see it with my own eyes" decision
Look at the testimonials! I googled for a whole day and there were zero negative comments!! Or... maybe its just too pricey for the everyday lengluis... LOL... >> Man.... if I do ever purchase it... you guys are so gonna get the first scoop on this!! hahahaha... Lets wait for my good friend's verdict!

Help! Our ICI paints are hazardous?!

    Could we be less concern?

Recently Malaysia's The Star published an article that commented on a site Cosmetic Database that lets us check if our skincare or cosmetics are actually of high hazard to the human body... Okay, fine. The article was published was a couple of weeks ago and this site has long been up since the days of women got smarter.. and cosmetic companies got competitive... hohoho... I'm outdated.

But.... back to the topic. I decided that it was time to do some cosmetic soul searching... lol.... Yes... some of the products back there in my skincare closet are actually BAD-BAD-BAD!! Emm... its too long-winded to explain here (besides, I'm no expert on medic jargons)... Go to the site and look it up... Just key in the product name in the search bar... Eg; Benefit Talk To the Tan
Familiarize yourself with the site... Eg; Click on "score" to arrange the display based on hazard score. I'm betting you'd be spending the next best of the hour searching up your products.

    • No, you don't need to immediately thrash your product into the bin... just remember... too much and too often is always bad
    • I don't know how organic are organic products but... its always okay being a skeptic and still stick to organic when you can
    • The less ingredients, less chemical jargons, is actually MORE in a product
    • Notice that all natural stuff always costs more? Yeah... 'cos the raw materials are harder to preserve and perishables aren't gonna last on the shelf
    • One hazardous product in a Brand does not necessarily make all products under that Brand bad... Just do more soul searching if you're paranoid...

The Price Of Beauty - Jessica Simpson

    How do you perceive beauty?

Wow... So I can't help but blog about this. This show is set to premier this 15th March 2010. Wouldn't it be great when this shows come on? I'm certainly buying this!

Link to the Preview - The Price of Beauty (Jessica Simpson)

Okay, so now you haven't got the time or bandwidth to watch the preview. So whats this hoo-ha about?

    • Its about Jessica Simpson exploring the world to see how different cultures perceive beauty
    • You may not be that into Jessica Simpson... but come on... if you're reading my post... you'll certainly be interested in this show! I know I am... hahahhahaa...
    • The whole point of the show - what makes the women from different cultures feel beautiful?
    • In the preview, she sneaks some of the her fav parts of the show... Eg; In Uganda, fat is beautiful... Beautiful is BIG and... before meeting your husband you go into a fat hut to become beautiful... I'm impressed already...
    • But its cool.. throughout the whole show, you'll see what women around the world does to achieve superficial beauty. Also, what we perceive beautiful in our culture may be the opposite in another culture
    • The show would be an eye opener for women around the world... Interesting to know that you're not alone on this quest...
    • You know... superficial beauty is not everything..
    • But heck... I'd be one hell of a fan.. hohohoho...
