Panasonic Facial Roller Eh-SP30 Vs Refa Pro/Carat Platinum Electronic Roller

Oh the damned many choices of Facial Rollers!!

Remember iwannabelenglui's recent post on PANASONIC Esthetic Facial Roller EH-SP30? And yes, before putting that as one of her wishlist item, there was that consideration on the the Refa Pro/Carat Platinum Electronic Roller that promises almost the same result of the Panasonic roller.

Just do a little Google and that's it.... we're SOLD! muahahahahhaa... Oh well..

The differences:
  • The Brand
  • The physics and scientific theory behind them: "How it works?"
  • The PRICE - Refa rollers costs a whopping RM1.2k
  • The publicity and popularity
  • The usage - Refa's multi-functioned
Before the Refa roller goes on iwananbelenglui's the wishlist item for 2013, lets do some reality check, more research, have some patience and drool over the pics above and below... LOL.... Heck, a pricier tool does not mean a better tool...

Cheap-Ass Tools to a Busy Lenglui's Happy Bath Time!!

Some lengluis find bathing a routine hassle for hygine so they do it as squeek quick as possible, whereas some lengluis spend ages in the bath scrubba-do-do and they literally take FO----RE----VER... (--)"

For the busy lengluis... I'm pretty sure we should be neither... LOL... Bath times should really be the ultimate relaxing beauty moments for all lengluis busy-or-not...

A few rules-of-thumb to go by:

Now... to the POINT -> The 5 Cheap-Ass Bath Tools:

1. The Shampoo Brush (RM5)
Use it like a comb with your conditioner for de-tangling that long thick hair. Doubles up as a head massager with head spa... Definitely not for lengluis with easy-to-break-fragile hair.

2. Bubble Bath Nett (RM5)
Helps lather up your soap/shower gel for a nice bubbly wash all over... bubbly-bubbly wash....

3. Cellulite/Body Massager (RM5)
Sure... after a long busy day... the last thing on a lenglui's mind would be exerting more energy to do massaging. But hey... body massagers can feel pretty good during a shower if used with a nice shower lather.

4. Silicone Facial Cleansing Pad (RM5)
Helps with cleaning away residues of makeup so we don't need to double or tripple the facial wash routine. They help lather up your facial wash nicely too!

5. The Foot File (RM3)
Oh.... simple brushing strokes on the balls of our feet would feel pretty nice during and after bath time. Of course then you'd have smooth feet after... hohoho...

IMPORTANT NOTE:
There are a whole load more other tools of course but hey... we want cheap ass tools that don't make us spend too much time in the shower... If you're a lenglui with ultra-thin-sensitive skin, please avoid these tools and be sure to install a shower filter. (^o^)

First Step To Say Begone Body Acne!! - Hexagon Shower Filter

So umm, remember the post on Coway Water Softener? huhuhu.... iwannabelengui ended up not getting that because she trialled the water softener for a short period of time and... got the brilliant idea that... the first step to getting rid of body acne should be just a simple water filter! Okay, so maybe Uncle Google helped a little there... lol.... Get rid of the rust that you don't see and chlorine that would end up being bad for you lengluis in the long run.

And being true to her words, iwannabelenglui stuck by the shower filter (Hexagon Shower Filter to be precise) for several months already. Conclusion = OH-FOR-GODS-SAKE.... go get yourself a shower filter! If spending like RM100 or less for a simple filter that would last you 6 months without cartridge replacement means making so much of a difference to the skin, think about when you spend hundreds on your oh-miracle-skincare.

Go wrap a white cloth around your shower head and run the water through several minutes. If you see the cloth turning yellowish brown, baby, it's time you invest in a shower filter. It doesn't matter what brand you choose, just get a reasonably good one that lasts.

Conclusion for Hexagon Shower Filter:

  • Seriously? No more chlorine taste or smell
  • LOL... I really don't see the rust any-ways but yes... the back-acne reduced
  • When you shower, it feels good... Like showering in drinking water...
  • Money-well-spent....  muahahahahhaha...
  • Reason for getting this brand? 'Cos its easily available and replacement cartridges are sold everywhere (cosway markets them)

Sana Body Refining Spray Vs Ettusais Medicated Body Whitening Mist

Okay, so I'm not just dealing with jawline and facial acne when down with food allergy. Its the back, tummy and decollete area that's irritating! I mean... doh... how's a lenglui suppose to wear bare back or umm... lets see... a little skin showing clothes during summer?! And, not to forget sugar_cupcakes is staying in a 365 days all year round HOT tropical climate... (--)"

So... here's to the 2 worth blogging about products over the years -> the must-win battle with body acne...

Ettusais Medicated Body Whitening Mist

  • Nice to use
  • Pretty pricey for a small can (I mean duh... your whole back is a HUGE area)
  • Not very easy to spray when you hold a half full can upside-down (covers a small area only)
  • Yes, it helps fade away red marks left by acne
  • Though its not a full proof get-rid-of-acne spray.. Duh! If that was possible why are we still dealing with acne

Sana Body Refining Spray

  • Quite worth it since its costs less for more (when compared to ettusais)
  • Yes, it helps... Keeps acne in check (salicylic acid)
  • Smells faintly of salicylic acid and sorta like a real mild tea tree oil tinge to it
  • The spray bottle is really nice-to-use. Sprays on well even when you turn the bottle upside down (spray covers a huge area)
  • I don't see the acne getting less red, but they do reduce in size over time (the anti-bacteria thing sure helps)

Conclusion:
  • I like SANA one 'cos its more umm... value-for-money
  • And the spray bottle is pretty nice to use. Easy to cover most area of body with a spray
  • Both work to help keep body acne in check
  • Of course you'll never be body-acne free just because of these products if your hormones are still imbalance and the food you eat is causing all sorta skin allergies (okay okay, speaking of the devil... hohohoho)
  • If you're battling body acne, I really do recommend these. (they are sure-keepers)

Body beautiful.... Not with exercise (-.-)" -- Easecox Amyliner

Easecox Diamant Gemstone Series

pic referenced from http://easecox.multiply.com/photos/album/5/Amylinear_Diamant

Update 14th September 2010:

  • Yeah.. My friend actually gave me the green light. lol..
  • But... I resisted. Why???
  • Cos her body shape's looking good but emm... her BUST SIZE LOOKS THE SAME AS BEFORE.
  • And me? I'm only going for the boobs.. lol.. Tempting... But I'm resisting.. Come on... its like RM4.8k and boobs ARE THE IMPORTANT FACTOR HERE (--)"

I was hesitant to blog about this... And I still am cos this is one of the stuff that I've been really clever (hohoho - self praise) with and won't purchase until a close friend of mine gives the GREEN light... Still it costs like man... A BOMB!!! RM4.8k++ for 2 sets!! Shessh.....

Okay so what does this do and why am I even interested:

  • inner wear consisting of a bra, corset and girdle
  • sold mainly by MLM (multi level marketing)
  • patented fabric from japan
  • cotton embedded with tourmaline (gemstone) to boost blood circulation - this is the thing thats gonna make you body beautiful
  • claims to "INCREASE or DECREASE (for over sized boobs) BREAST SIZE (hohohohohho)"
  • reduce waistline (you would supposedly end up with hourglass figure)
  • lift your butt
  • reduce thigh size
  • women who's just had baby claims that this is a miracle body worker!

The regime:

  • you have to be wearing this minimum I think 8 hours a day (correct me if any of you MLM people know better)
  • if you want bigger boobs the special bra which will do the "magic" has no padding okay?! and it doesn't look like the pic (which you can purchase from Easecox after your boob size increased) which I posted above...
  • on the contrary, my friend's wearing it and she says its so comfortable
  • only setback... you have no extra "oomph"... so small chested women will suffer avoiding skin-fitted tops for that correction period of time
  • the corset is actually comfortable
  • her sis, my beautician friend who's been wearing this for more than month... has increased half a cup size and has great body... (she already had a great body to begin with anyways... lol - she's a beautician... remember?)
  • its so pricey that even if I wanna get this... this will have to be a "see it with my own eyes" decision
Look at the testimonials! I googled for a whole day and there were zero negative comments!! Or... maybe its just too pricey for the everyday lengluis... LOL... >> Man.... if I do ever purchase it... you guys are so gonna get the first scoop on this!! hahahaha... Lets wait for my good friend's verdict!

Nice BUTT? - Wakeboarding for fast results... lol

pic sourced from http://www.wakeboard.com.my/

Seriously... I've been wanting to write about this since my one and only trial of wakeboarding... YOU WILL GET A TONED FIRM BUTT WITH REGULAR WAKEBOARDING!! I am not kidding. And the only reason I'm saying this is because - when friends and I got home from wakeboarding, our butt muscles hurt like crazy!!!! HAHAHHAHAHA.... Believe all you want... But... man.... imagine your butt hurting even when you try to squat or sit... So... there can be only one conclusion to this... wakeboarding seriously work out the bum area!!! Forget squats and lunges... I could never get my butt area to hurt this much with 20 squats or 20 lunges... But one short session of wakeboarding and after a day.... Man.... before you can say... you go girl.... If you want quick results (and escaping having to do squats and lunges)... TRY WAKEBOARDING.... Though... emm... be warned... not for the faint-fitted... lol... I don't have a nice butt... but... I think I'll stick to the occasional lunges and squats for now... I don't have that much pain tolerance or fitness discipline... lol...

To be continued...

How to Make Your Clothes Look Good On You

Lee the Tailor

Okay... I'm not some filthy rich girl who has everything... Not every dress fits me right.. (I'm pear-shape by the way) But... wearing real expensive quality clothes won't make you the dressiest girl in the room... Take a HINT... Alter your clothes to fit your figure!

pic credit to Sony

Clothes we buy are not custom-made to fit our bodies. They go by the general measurements to fit a certain generic size. No, not everyone has the perfectly proportioned bust-waist-hips-height... That's why we spend more time on actually trying out clothes in the dressing room rather than buying what we saw that we thought would look good on us in the first place.

You know that dress in the closet that you wouldn't touch even though you thought it looks fantastic... but really... it looks fugly on you? Yeah... so look for a nice tailor in your housing area... If you can't find any, ask your friends! Let me emulate how an alteration can change how you look in that dress...

Before Alteration
Dress makes you look bulkier than you really are and doesn't sit well on your figure

After Alteration

Dress looks figure-flattering and just as you thought it would look on you when you decided to buy it

And..... Puuuuh..... leeeeeease............. there's no such thing as not being able to afford a tailor. For altering a simple blouse you'll only need about RM3-RM10 depending on what you're altering. For most part, my blouses or dresses altered are between RM5-RM10. And for simple darts... you only need about RM3. If you can afford to buy that dress... Don't tell me you can't afford a simple alteration.. (--)" The dress probably cost's way more than RM3. Of course... you'll need to find a home-tailor that you can trust. Rule of thumb: don't go to those alteration-pro shops... unless you're prepared to fork out more $$ on your clothes.

Body Shapers / Slimming Wear

Tummy + Hip + Leg Shaping Pants

My hips and butt has always been a problem. No matter how much food I down... I will never gain much weight above or below my hips... All the bad stuff... they go to the hips and butt... The rest.. remains pretty much the same. I don't know if you call that lucky for a food lover... lol... no.. you don't consider someone who's pear-shape lucky. Its always hard to get nice pants that fit you. And... you can kiss goodbye to nice skimpy bikini bottoms or pretty little thongs and g-strings.. they'll look ridiculous on you... lol..

So now, okay... I'm not complaining about being pear-shape or bottom heavy.
All I'm saying is that... I wanna be wearing a thin tightly fitted skirt or dress or pants confidently... So here's to Googling:

Was browsing through this site by a seller names Sherry... She brings in stuff from Taiwan and sells online in her site:

And... I saw this!
http://myprettywomen.com/goods.php?id=297

so umm... as usual... it was real tempting so I just went on to get one...

Conclusion:
  • say hello to nice looking butt (even though its partly faked... lol)
  • trust me.. its really difficult to get yourself into a slimming wear... imagine... squeezing yourself into something thats 1/4 of your usual size... hahhahhaha
  • but eventually when you get yourself into it... its surprisingly quite snug. Not uncomfortable like what you'd expect
  • but... don't have it on for over 3 hours... you're going to start feeling uncomfortable
  • perfect! for wearing tight fitting pants or dresses.. hehehehehe... nice pushed up but... and slimmer looking thighs..
  • quite affordable so get one just for that skimpy butt sticking dress! (but uh-huh... get a good one since I heard those cheap lousy quality ones are mighty uncomfortable to be sitting in)

Massage Oils (DIY) - Self Massage

**to be continued**

Why spend when you can save? lol... wise words that are hard to keep... But seriously, trips to massages are $$$ and time consuming so, lets keep that for special occasions..

Self massage is NOT difficult. And, can be quite relaxing once you've gotten the hang of it. I'm a lazy person.. but by nature, who's not? So... initially I just like the idea of buying massage oils for the sake displaying it on the shelf. So it looks as though I did use them. I got all my massage oils from Body Shop. Okay... massage oils need no branding. But then again... the Body Shop was having its annual sale... So there goes a splurge... On my shelf you will find... soya carrier oil, almond oil, lavender massage oil, ylang ylang massage oil and lavender essential oil.

After about a year++ on the shelf... (they were collecting dust), I decided. What the heck... how tiresome can self massage be? So I Googled for some tips on self massage techniques...

http://www.livestrong.com/article/12454-do-selfmassage-/

which were pretty good actually... Occasionally, I'll practice this before going to bed... Not everyday though.. But... You do wake up feeling... emm... your muscles have loosen a little... That's a good sign right? I guess, 'cos it felt good.

I Hate Cellulites - cellulites be gone

I hate cellulite. (period)

Life's unfair. Why are women more prone to cellulite? Why isn't there a miracle cream that zaps cellulite away? (Okay, forget laser - that's too $$$ extreme for me). So when I decided that enough was enough... it was time... to combat those unsightly curdles below my butt.

After some several hours of research, I realize... no amount of miracle cream/gel is going to get rid of them cellulite. So what would help?

Fake a tan
- darker skin tend to hide cellulite well, especially if you do want to hang out at the beach in a bikini. I think, I don't mind a tan butt!!! lol
- I got the Loreal Sublime Bronze self tanning gel from UK cos this can be applied on both face and body. Alternately, you can try "Jiffy Tan" by Benefit or other tanning products for the body....
- tolerable scent
- easy to use but... you gotta stay garment-free for 1 hour till it dries completely to avoid streaking.. Imagine.. staying naked for 1 hour worrying that if you sit or do anything... its gonna just streak or stain the chair/bed.. (--)"

Get a Cellulite Massager
- cellulite massagers are commonly sold everywhere
- I got mine from Watsons.
- Lather up and massage at problem areas during shower
- Yes, this helps! So do it!

Take Collagen Supplements
- collagen strengthens our connective tissue... so... ditto
- see my Kinohimitsu J'pan Beauty Drink blog

Invest in cellulite cream/gel/serum
- Its all in the mind... Its all in the mind.... Mentally helps us fight cellulite... lol
- Believe it or not... combined with the above attempts... the appearance of the cellulite below my bum was reduced. At least something is working...

Sana Esteny Hip and Leg Gel

- requested Lengcai to get this from Tokyo... Imagine... he has to show the pic to some Jap uncle at the store...

Lengcai: Hello mister... err... do you sell this? (showing pic of Sana Esteny in mobile phone)
Japanese Uncle: Summimasen?? Hmm... aaaaa..... oooo... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa SO!!!!
Lengcai: (this is soooo embarrassing... kill me... kill me now.....)
Japanese Uncle: Arigato! Arigato!! (the kids got cellulite?? LOL)

- relatively cheap
- hot tingling sensation
- smells like orange peel
- skin feels smooth after application

Yves Rocher 3D Body Definition Serum
- mum got this for me..
- claims to transform bumpy, orange-peel skin into an ultra-smooth texture in just 7 days
- Forgotten how much this was. Definitely < RM100
- Not much feeling on my butt... and the smell is irritating although its actually lightly scented. but, I think this works better than the Sana one! Cos the bumpy texture on my butt seems to be less visible... Hmm... then again... maybe its the massager...
